Utilizing the Alternatives Feature

This guide will walk you through how to use the Alternatives feature on IKIDO platform.

This tool helps you make well-informed decisions when selecting component replacements, enhancing your risk management strategy.


1. The Alternatives Feature

This feature suggests suitable replacements for items found at risk in your BoM, providing you with a proactive approach to risk management.

The suggestions appear under the 'Alternatives' column in the 'Risk Management' part.

2. Click to View Alternatives/Related Items

Click on an item in the Alternatives column to display the list of suggested replacements.

For example, the system has found 20 alternatives and 5 related items for this highlighted item.

3. Alternatives Results Page

The alternatives page presents a comparative view of the original items and their alternatives, organized by relevance, risk type, and other vital parameters.

4. Tech Data

Scroll down to view technical data to compare alternative components based on specific parameters.

5. Red Indicates Differences

The platform highlights differences in red between specific parameters of the original item and its alternatives.


6. Green Indicates Improvements

Alternatives that offer improved parameters are highlighted in green.

The final section includes supply information for each alternative.

Click the thumbs-up or thumbs-down icons to give feedback on each alternative.

Hover over incomplete bars in the form, fit, and function comparison to see specific differences.

The section following the alternatives displays related items.

These items are not confirmed by our algorithm as alternatives but could still fulfill the same function in PCB design.

14. Click Magnifying Glass Icon

The platform defaults to finding alternatives for high-risk items.

Choose the minimum risk level for which you'd like to find alternatives—high, medium, or all items.
