Assigning a BoM to a product and product line enables timely notifications about emerging risks associated with your BoM.
1. Begin the Assignment
Go to the BoM Explorer page and click "Assign."
2. Input product details
Enter the product information, which includes the product line, product name, and product version, to assign the BoM to a specific product.
For your first assignment to a product, you'll need to enter this information manually.
For subsequent assignments, previously entered product details will be conveniently pre-filled in a dropdown menu for quick assignment.
3. New product details
The new product details will be visible under the product title.
4. Access the 'Products' section
Your assigned BoMs can be found on the "Products" page.
5. List of BoMs
The BoM you've just assigned will show up in the BoM list.
6. Use filtering options
To locate BoMs assigned to particular products, use filters like product line, product name, and version.
7. Product example
When multiple BoMs are assigned to the same product, you’ll get an aerial view of all associated risks.
For example, BoMs under the product line "FusionFlow," named "PentaCore," and version "A.1" will be displayed.
8. Assigned BoMs breakdowns
A consolidated view shows item breakdowns by risk, the main reason for the risk, and how BoMs are distributed based on risk.
9. High and medium risk filters
To focus on high or medium risk items, apply these filters.
10. Where Used Search
Use this function to find items from other BoMs assigned to the same product.
11. Optional Un-Assigning
If you wish to un-assign a BoM, click "Un-Assign."
12. Un-Assign Confirmation
A warning will appear, confirming your intention to un-assign the BoM.
